Back in 2016, we opened our doors for the first time. Ten years and over 60,000 guests later, we're throwing a party to celebrate, and it's happening this Saturday. If you're looking for things to do in the Peak District this weekend, this is it.
The heart of our celebrations is a birthday party at Mount Cook for past guests, friends, colleagues and anyone who wants to join in. No booking needed, just turn up on the day.
From 10am, the site opens to the public with activity sessions starting soon after. Grab some food from 11am (hot food from midday), and stick around for speeches from our Directors and a prize draw at 1pm. There's a brass band playing through the afternoon, a face painter, craft sessions with Wild Roots Creative, and a guided trail run with Trails for Good if you fancy bringing your running shoes.
For £15 you can take part in three activities from a choice of High Ropes, Bushcraft, Zip Wire, Archery, Via Ferrata and Low Ropes, alongside free help-yourself activities running throughout the day. The whole thing wraps up at 4pm.
Ten years is a milestone worth marking, not just for us but for everyone who's climbed, hiked, camped or laughed their way through a session at Mount Cook. This party is our way of saying thank you, and a chance to look back on how far we've come.
If you're after things to do in the Peak District this weekend, you won't need to look much further. High Ropes, Archery, Via Ferrata, a brass band and a free family day out, all in one place. No booking, no tickets, just turn up this Saturday. See you there!
