We have a wide range of activities here at Mount Cook for all levels of activity experience and a variety of ages. We sort our activities by the skill you will develop on each activity session. Offsite activities are provided in our beautiful local area by Acclimbatize.

Abseil

Our 12 metre abseil point offers a new experience and personal challenge on a quarried limestone rock face.

Rock Climbing & Scrambling

The group will venture up and around rocks. They will encourage each other and face new experiences. Scrambling will take place around Black Rocks, a 10 minute walk from the centre.

Bushcraft

Groups will experience and develop skills such as fire-lighting techniques, plant identification, natural cordage, animal tracking and shelter construction.

Archery Tag & Maze Cube

Archery tag is an exciting combat game which combines elements of dodge ball with the timeless skill of archery. Maze cube will require teams to work together to transport balls around a floating maze, among other challenges.

Learn to shoot an arrow in the style of an Olympic archer using a modern recurve bow. Learn and refine map reading skills including using keys, finding checkpoints and orientating the map.

Rock Climbing Offsite

You will be taught by our highly trained instructors how to put on a harness, the climbing knows and how to abseil down a rock face safely. Black Rock climbing area is a playground for lovers of Rock Climbing and Bouldering.

Zip Wire & Traverse Cube

Our Rooftop Rider Zip Wire starts on the Centre's roof and finishes on the far side of our quarry! The Traverse cube involves a horizontal peg wall with additional obstacles introduced throughout.

Split into two tribes from 2000BC - Caledonii and Iceni - to compete to solve riddles, build catapults, and conquer Britain first. May the best tribe win!

Caving
