Book Your Secondary School Residential at Mount Cook

Updated: Jul 26, 2023

Outdoor education can provide massive benefits for students from the beginning of their schooling in reception until the end of university. While the end of year school residential trip with outdoor activities has become a staple for Key Stage 2 students, secondary school students may miss out on these experiences that are crucial for building confidence, learning communication skills, and discovering hidden strengths like leadership or problem solving.

From year 7 to year 11, students undergo the transition from child to young adult, forming new relationships and discovering the world around them in a new light. Residential experiences can complement this development, whether it’s soaking in culture or having a prolonged period away from home.

"79% of secondary school students indicated that the residential made them realise what they learn at school is important to them" - Learning Away; Making a Case for High Quality Residential Learning
