As the summer holidays approach, we'd like to take this opportunity to update all our customers on what's new at Mount Cook, and to say a few thanks to our guests from over the last 12 months.
School Trips
We’d like to say thank you to all our guests who joined us for school residential trips this year. We have worked with absolutely loads of fantastic schools both returning and new. If you have not already re-booked your school residential, please make sure you get in touch with your booking coordinator as soon as possible, as space is extremely limited for summer term 2024 already.
We have space left for our “new look” curriculum residentials this Autumn term starting from £85.25 + VAT per child – includes overnight accommodation, full board catering, and 8 hours of fully instructed history themed activities. Choose from Viking Explorer, Roman Invader or Prehistoric Britain to give your key stage 2 students a taste of history!
Holiday Club at Mount Cook
Unfortunately, we will not be running Holiday Club this summer holidays due to limited availability. The next Holiday Club will likely be April 2024, so watch this space and we hope to see you there.
New activities
We have acquired our AALA licence (climbing category) and have several new activities now available at Mount Cook, including an exciting Via Ferrata, Rock Climbing, and Abseiling. A special thank you to Duckmanton Primary School and 1st Chatsworth Scouts who were models for our new activities, and kindly let us take lots of great photos of them in action!
As a not-for-profit, Mount Cook are always looking to reinvest to increase and improve our activity provision and facilities, and we are confident all our guests will love our exciting new rock-based activities.
Our fundraiser for the Helping Hand of Ukraine – a CCLL division
Thank you to everyone who came to our annual fundraiser on the 11th June. Over 150 people attended, and we raised just under £2,000 for families affected by the war in Ukraine.
We had loads of exciting outdoor activities available on the day, such as zip wire, archery, bush craft, and low ropes. The weather was absolutely fantastic and drew the crowds. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day for this important cause.
The Helping Hand of Ukraine – a CCLL division has historically bought children suffering long terms affects of the Chernobyl disaster for respite holidays to the UK – Mount Cook have been lucky enough to offer activities to these young people, so this is a cause close to our hearts. We hope to see these groups return in the near future.
One more massive thank you to all the guests that have made this summer season one to remember! Same again next year?
