A Decade of Adventure

Since opening the doors to Mount Cook Adventure Centre in 2016, we have had an incredible journey. From welcoming our very first groups, to now hosting over 60,000 guests! We have seen thousands of people conquer the High Ropes course, share stories round campfires, take the leap of the Zip Wire, and every moment has built resilience and confidence.

To celebrate this milestone, we are having a collection of celebrations through the year - including a big party and our monthly challenges leading to a big prize draw!

The Birthday Celebrations

The highlight of the year takes place on July 18th, 2026. We are throwing a massive birthday party to honour the past guests, dedicated staff, and local partners who have shaped our journey. This isn't just a ceremony; it's a day of action. We’ll be offering food and drink, free outdoor activity sessions and taking a nostalgic look back at how a small vision grew into a leading centre for outdoor learning.

Joining the Legacy

The celebrations extend through the seasons leading up to the 10th Anniversary party with our Monthly Challenges. We’re inviting you to step into the light and share your experiences using #DecadeOfMountCook. Each month brings a new theme designed to ground you in nature and push your limits, with the chance to win prizes like high-quality outdoor gear and immersive activity days. The challenge this month is to create a '10MC' (10 Years of Mount Cook) installation using only the natural items you find around you, and to share this on social media with our account tagged in and the hashtag #DecadeOfMountCook.
