ADVENTURE IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing access to the outdoors for all. Our adventurous activities are designed to broaden horizons, develop key skills and create lasting memories.
To make a difference to people's lives through direct experience with the outdoors.
To provide access to the outdoors and outdoor activities for all, especially young people and those who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
HOW WE STARTED
Mount Cook was founded by outdoor enthusiasts and friends, Robin Sibson and Colin Adams. Having enjoyed many adventures throughout their lives and eager to give something back, Colin and Robin wanted to enable others to enjoy and appreciate the great outdoors through adventurous outdoor activities and outdoor learning in Derbyshire.
The purpose-built centre took just 1 year to build and opened its doors to the public in July 2016.
Since the summer of 2016, we have welcomed over 30,000 individuals through our doors and continue to work with a variety of schools, groups, organisations and charities to provide exceptional outdoor experiences.
WHAT WE DO
We provide high quality residential and non-residential activity experiences for a variety of groups, 365 days a year.
Although we have a new purpose-built facility, we have a very experienced team who are passionate about passing on an education and appreciation of the outdoors.
As a not-for-profit organisation, all profit that we make goes back into supporting groups who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to access the outdoors.
